Ralph, the reason no-one offered a viable solution is because there simply IS no near term viable solution. you can print money to support the stock market, but you can't print electricity generation capacity. the solution WOULD have been to truly deregulate the market a long time ago, and allow generation capacity to be built in a true free market model. that has been blown, and now the piper will be paid, with all the lamentable consequences you cite. eventually Californians will pay up for their power needs, there's no way around that.
