**OT** The problem is that the CPUC has been screwing the utilities forever in the name of consumer benefit. They made it financially impossible for utilities to make any return on investments in power plants. So what happened? The utilites got rid of them. Now the the owners of those plants aren't regulated by the morons at the CPUC and are charging whatever they want. The problem could have been avoided if the CPUC would have allowed the California Utilities a reasonable return on their assets.
FYI consumer electric rates in CA have not risen for the last 7 years.

Those that think the California Utilities are some evil group of money hungry monopolists, are are totally clueless.

Califonia utilities are in a shitty business whose return on investment is controlled by a politically motivated group of short sighted morons, aka the CPUC.

eepOpp I admit that I am not 100% up on all the details in
the CA PG&G, The People of CA and gas producers fiasco.

What I do know I am interested in is
in NOT bailing out another screw up.

I don't want to hear the same old

" It just happened".
"Nobody is responsible"
"It just fell off the sky ".

The point here is that somebody is responsible for it.

Those responsible should pay the costs.

I will not pay to get CA or PG&G or The Peoples
Socailist Republic of CA

out of the hole they put them selves in
regardless of who is responsible.

I am convinced
there is plenty of money in CA
to pay their gas bill
.

I just want them to find the money and fork it over,
ASAP and stop trying to con me to pay their bill.

PS I am tired of CNBC pushing this sad story on National Cable all day long to help loosen the purses and pay for it,
