El,
I don't think YHOO is a strong global company. On top of that, it depends on advertising. It has to compete with all sorts of media companies for ad dollars.

CPQ is a strong global company. It's income is derived from totally different sources. I don't expect MC will jump up and down with glee about the first 1/2 prospects. However, I don't think he will project gloom and doom. Remember, the first quarter is not a strong quarter for CPQ. 1Q 2001 will be compared to 1Q 2000. That wasn't exactly a sterling quarter after the Y2k IT build up. So Q over Q comparisons will not be a disaster.

Don't get all depressed on me. 18 is a good number. Now let's see if CPQ goes to the 19th hole after finishing 18.
