I can't see Drive Image not writing to that drive. I would try it, but if you restore the image, better do a back up in case something goes haywire.

I store my backup images on a separate hard drive, devoted to holding back up data only.

The way I have my system set up with Drive Image and 2 hard drives, is rock solid secure in the case of hard drive failure.

Well, you might be right, but this info came directly from PowerQuest's 1394 tech support "gREW" (as Shorty would say!) this morning. I'm hesitant to buy the product and then use it in an unsupported fashion, since -- like yours -- my backup needs to be "rock solid."

Thanks,
Scarecrow
