Im teaching my son, Brandon to understand a bear market.
Ive asked him what his thoughts
were on several companies, and ive given him enough cash to short.
Even though he has doubled his profits he still feels uncomfortable about shorting stocks!
The best advice I can give him is just follow the trend and never try to catch a falling knife!

Reasoned and logical market analysis is welcome on this thread. A lot of people, myself included, have benefitted greatly here. Not only have we benefitted from the efforts of Iqbal and others to make the 'random walk' a bit more predictable, but I like to think we have grown in our common humanity.

So, if you wish to post your reasoning as to what the market is doing or portends to do, by all means welcome. And if you just need a vent for some vitriol, or a place to work off some frustration, might I suggest:

IMHO, when I see downgrades on INTC and CSCO and the NASDAQ moves UP the following two days, I consider it imperative to examine my short positions very carefully.
