It scares me too. I spend more time with my daughter as a daytrader then I could with any other job. (that pays reasonably well) I don't leave for the office until 8:30-9 am in the morning. I am home most days by 4:30 pm. Except earnings season. I cut off every Friday afternoon in the summer to hit the cottage for the weekend. i take plenty-o holidays. Things are good in my little world. I love my wife, my baby, my cottage...I can do with out this home I am now selling (to rent one instead) I sleep well because I am in cash and my love ones are in t-bills and debt free. Ed talked about the "have nots" last year. Fortunately, I have and my family too. And before this bear market is over, I will "have" a lot more. I don't "worry" as much as you might think. I think we are going to have a financial crisis. I have done the only things I can do...protect myself and family. I have excepted the fact that this market is going to continue to grind lower. I am disappointed that we couldn't have a few years more of a bull market. Oh well....what can you do 20 years is pretty good.

Remember when everyone thought the Japanese economy and Japanese business were going to take over the world? Well that was late eighties...what happened? Their market tanked. They lowered interest rates...there currency fell...venture capital dried up...banks and brokerages failed...real estate fell 70%. These things happen. Things don't look good in the credit markets now. The same problems will likely happen in the US. Read what Soros has to say about the subject.

Also, there will be another bull market...just not in tech for a decade or so. Perhaps, metals will fly. Many are...perhaps gold? After it's done getting beaten down it could be interesting on a rebound. Like everything...at some point it will be over sold. 20 year bear market in gold...

Anyhow, best of luck in the coming weeks...I for one think next week will be ugly...I think we will test that 2000 level before the month ends.

. Bams, sincerely, go out and enjoy your life. Mike

Mike

Very kind of you to offer such good advice.

I believe the sad cold fact is that this is all there is.No other life exists for this person.
