To be honest with you, I didn't really pay that much attention to stuff like this until the clinton administration; and only then because I had supported clinton. At first I was hoping clinton would select some honorable way to step aside; later I was just increasingly incensed that he was never the man that I thought he was and seeing that he would pull one crappy thing after another to stay in power.

I sort of remember when the troups went to Somalia and I understood there was a UN humanitarian agenda to intervene for the sake of the starving Somalians. I didn't care for Bush at the time and can't remember if I questioned this action. I don't see a reason to doubt the motives behind it at this point since I would support the same effort if it were called for today. Do you know something?

Robert,

It's great to hear someone mentioning Somalia as the result of an egomaniac's abuse of power. I have often thought that it was quite a blatant act of "poor sportsmanship" to give Clinton this debacle to start off his Presidency and to risk the lives of Americans to serve his own ego problem.

Bush Jr. is another chicken hawk. "Gung ho to war YOU go but not me!!!!!!"

You seem to forget, that Clinton changed the mission, from protecting humanitarian relief efforts, to 'nation building' and hunting down war lords.

It was after Clinton changed the mission, that the problem started.
