GST, Since you've decided to go long and have started to take a more optimistic view of events I was prepared to take up where you left off and start posting negative things here to keep people informed. You know, things like Japan is at two year lows tonight. But I see you haven't totally given up on telling us all how bad it really is out there, so I won't be mentioning things like Japan is about 325 points away from the October lows reached back in the crisis of 1998. Of course if the 12,879 level is breached that would put the Nikkei at 15 year lows---levels not seen since the Nikkei climbed above 13,000 on the way UP to 39,000. Just one more reason why Mr Greenspan might want to consider cutting rates now rather than 20 days from now.
