The company I work for subscribes to them plus all the other business and markets related papers, websites etc. I defend them because I like their site and a few of their writers. They have both made and saved me a lot of money. They are one of the few places that have fund managers and traders writing stories. That provides a great perspective into what the big funds are thinking about the market. I think they, unlike the regular press, are even less likely to be manipulated by people pumping positions in the brokerage or fund community. From what I've seen the TSC usually prints sources of info and the positions of their sources. Also, most of the reporters aren't allowed to own stock. The sources that get quoted on CNBC or other websites are usually much more anonymous.

I also defend them because it's such an easy position to take vs. yours. You can't back up your false claims, you don't have a leg to stand on, and I think you probably watch too much X-Files on TV.
