IMO, the rights that I have are those which I believe that I have and am willing to insist that others respect, which do not at the same time violate another person's rights. Others may have the ability to suppress these rights, but that does not mean that they don't exist.

From your argument, it can be deduced that you do not believe that women have the inherent right to choose what happens to their body, i.e. abortion. That this right only exists because society tolerates it. I believe that even if society decides to suppress this right, women still have the right to make these decisions for themselves.

I have to believe that we have different definitions for "right". To me, "right" does not mean what I can actually do, it means what I should feel free to do without violating another person's rights.

If every single person in the world arbitrarily decides that I don't have the right to live, even though they would have the ability to take my right away from me, it would still be morally and ethically wrong.
