HG48-The drug you are talking about is Fosamax, by Merck. Yes it originally came out in a once daily pill, with all those requirements you listed. However, very recently, they have released the same medication, in a higher strength that can be taken once a week. You only have to put up with that stuff just 1 morning every 7 days.

I would not put a single cent into a company whose fortune hinges on a drug that has to be given IV, once a month, for the rest of one's life. Its tough enough to get some people to take just 1 pill per day with no lifestyle infringements. Very, very low patient compliance I would reasonably imagine. Something like that would have necessarily a very limited market.

Be careful, don't get caught up in that hype.

I have no positions in any drug companies, outside of a few shares in my wife's 401k(not Merck).
