>>For the President is a lot smarter than he is given credit for.<< Kind of like saying the Arctic Circle is a lot warmer than folks believe.

And Clinton is always - like AlGore the Loser - being credited with better far smarter than he is - or has proved to be. The guy spent eight years clinging to office w/o achieving one intentional positive accomplishment* to which he can truthfully claim credit. Not that Clinton was ever concerned even remotely with the truth, other than avoiding it.

Clinton's experience - from Gennifer Flowers on - merely shows that a partisan and Left media can provide life support for their man no matter what he does so long as the economy remains good.

They still maintain w/o laughter that Bill Clinton deserves credit for an economic expansion that resumed about two years before Clinton and AlGore first disgraced office. By the same reasoning it is far more plausible to give FDR credit for causing the Great Depression. After all, FDR deepened the Depression whereas Clinton retarded the expansion with a huge tax increase.

* he did elect the GOP Congress, but that was hardly intentional.
