Pat, I see what you're saying, but you're obviously taking a much longer view here. I think my long-term (6 months to a year) is much shorter than yours so it's easy to see why there's disagreement.

I'm fully aware of the good long-term (by your definition) fundamentals of the industry. Where I differ is in the short-term direction of the stock and it's ability to rally and hold higher levels. I think general market sentiment or perception is the driver right now and the factor that determines where JDSU is headed. I think Cramer knows that too and that's why he and others make the argument they do. There is simply opportunity cost involved in investing in JDSU right considering how well other sectors are doing. I respect the capacity of the market to quickly change its bearish views and I think that the question of whether growth is really slowing will only be known in the coming months. Hence, stay away for now. Better risk adjusted opportunity elsewhere.
