Wanted: Loving handheld home for Pamela
Anderson

LOS ANGELES--For less than $5, fans of Pamela Anderson can play with the former
"Baywatch" beauty on their handheld computers.

Anderson debuted the "PortaPam" computer game Wednesday, which enables a cartoon version
of herself to be downloaded onto digital organizers.

People must keep the scantily clad caricature happy by clicking on a
list of food, gifts and affectionate remarks--or the computerized Pam
becomes grouchy or despondent.

The game is reminiscent of the Tomagotchi craze from a few years
ago, in which people bought small plastic toys that housed virtual
pets demanding love and attention.

Downloaders, beware: PortaPam is temperamental. The real
Anderson is an animal-rights activist, so clicking the program's
fur-coat option only aggravates the digital doppelganger.

The right gifts and attention create a happy PortaPam who blows
kisses and dances at a nightclub. "I think my fans will enjoy playing
with PortaPam and helping manage her career on their handheld
computers," the 33-year-old actress said.

Eruptor Entertainment designed the product.
