I disagree.
The IPO would be a disaster in light of YHOO's announcement. Look for YHOO to fall to 15/12 range and get bought by Disney.

YHOO is toast. They don't understand media, and unfortunately are a media company. AV, if they want to be successful, needs to understand this and be realistic about expectations. Should AV hold off on the IPO for 6-8 months, the ad market will revive and they will get their price. Now is just a bad time for AV to come out. Of course, it was a worse time 5 months ago, because the outlook was so grim. Now it's just bad because YHOO had f'ed up so badly, but the overall future for these types of businesses is still pretty good.

>In hind-sight, Compaq should not have sold this and should have spin-it off on the day they bought Digital. Shareholders would have benefited and would have raised more cash for Compaq to use it in acquiring Storage or other technology. Anyway, that's history.<

Wrong. At the time cpq acquired DEC, alta vista did not even own the name, much work had to be done to position it to sell.

Oh, and this, from another of your analyses, Mar 27, 2000, [on Mar 27, 2000, LU was selling for $70].

Is LU as a whole company growing at 15-20%? You have some
units in LU hurting the other units. ...LU is undervalued at current levels, ... CSCO has built the credibility, which gives confidence to the investors who don't mind paying extra premium.

I expect LU to do well after Q2 of this year and start getting close 100.
