How would one go about contacting the FED to do this? Brokerages dont have any govt insurence? So how do you maintain investement accounts if you cant keep balances? What about costodial Bank accounts?

As it happens, I look into that Fed service. I have not set it up but you can connect it to a bank money market account and wire money in and out of T-bills, bonds, inflation-adjusted bonds, etc. with little hassle, it sounded like.
