IP ..

a very reliable pattern has been giving exactly false signals for months now.

The last good signal was for September .. it was a "sell" for the next month.

Since then every signal has been a "buy." Except for this month .. This month the signal was a "sell." This "month" ends on 1/17. To negate the current signal the SPX cash needs to take out 1383 by then. If it makes this move then the next month will be a "sell" also. Since IP would still be inverted, that may represent a buy in a bear market.

I'm very tempted to call this a bear market until IP reverts to norm. However, at this time, the best that can be said about IP is that it is unreliable.

Note .. the "month" for IP runs from option expiration to option expiration. Yes .. the tail wags the dog.
