TriQuint Semiconductor (TQNT:Nasdaq - news) is calling in the barbers.
The company said Thursday that revenue for 2000 will exceed previous expectations and total about $300.6 million. As a result, the company's senior executives will have their heads shaved because of a lost bet with its sales force. Seriously.

The maker of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits posted revenue of $163.6 million in 1999.

Shares of the Hillsboro, Ore., company gained $5.19, or 15.7%, to $38.25 in regular session Nasdaq trading, and continued to rise in after-hours Island activity, reaching $39.77.
