Ralph,

My CMA at Merrill Lynch has an option for my cash to be in a MM that is comprised of US treasuries and government agency debt. No Fannie and Freddie junk. My IRA at Merrill Lynch has a FDIC insured MM. I have accounts at other houses but they do not have MM accounts with only treasuries or is FDIC insured vehicles to park my cash, so I only use them for holding paper assets like treasuries, CD's, stock's. etc.
