rick,

i get excited too, and it's not even coming to my house. <g3> i love tracking the build sequence on the dell site.... especially the day you load the page and it says SHIPPED !

i hope you've bookmarked some of the win2000 sites and forums i've posted here. there are so many terrific sources we can all tap for the info we need. and the more thread members we have sharing this info and knowledge just makes for a fabulous synergy.

even though i love win2000, i'll soon be installing w98 on my other puter. i have w95 on that puter right now. it's limited in the amount of ram it can run (64mb), and as i've heard it said, "it takes 128mb just to boot win2000". LOL! but i can't put newer software on the w95 os. last night i tried loading nsw2001 and norton said no to w95a. they'd only load on w95b on up. and that's oem, so there's no service releases that will bring me up to speed. but that's a good reason for me to wipe the drive clean and go with a fresh install of w98. i'm going to use the dell cd i got with another pc. a dell guy told me last night that their os cd's are not machine specific. but in the interim, i found a version of systemworks laying around that would accept w95a, nsw2000. i did have an even earlier version on there.

anyway, sorry for the complete ramble.

do keep us posted on your new pc's arrival and progress.

:)
