Sure. I think some radical people in our society really want to be out there fighting something. Rather than have them latch on to a serious complex social issue, like race, or sexism, or abortion (issues that are huge and complex and destabilizing to our society and issues that are NOT aided by fanatics) I much prefer them to be picketing an art exhibit or a movie- harmless. I think of art, well some art, as the rodeo clown of society. It draw the attention of some fanatics- and it draws them away from areas and issues where I think they could cause much more harm.

I can't prove it. Just a theory. If proven wrong I'll give it up.
