i'll take what i perceive to be ie's stability over netscape's crashiness anyday. and i remember the day when a comment like that coming from me would just not have happened. but netscape's instability finally took its toll on me.

as for ie5.5 vs. ie5.0 in the speed department, you're an experienced ie user, so i'll take your word for it. like formerly joe, i seemed to notice some slowdown in ie periodically today. heck, i recall more than a few days when netscape just pooped out for an hour here and there. after reading formerly joe's post, i went in and 86'd the browser cache (there were only 200 items there), and performance did seem to perk up. but i tell ya, i hate to let those temp files accumulate! <g3>
