Hi Tuck,

ionspec.com

Here's a good site for understanding the basics of FTICR-MS.

FTICR is what I think is going to change drug screening in the near future. They are able to put a protein or other biomolecule in a tube with a mixture of up to 100 small molecules and look for binding. The ability to achieve ppm mass resolution enables a high resolution mass(which really narrows down compounds from a list of a 100 or so masses which one or two is the binder). By placing a native ligand in the mix as well, one can look for competitive binding of such a small molecule and determine site specificity.

Regards,

V
