Local telecomms player Open Telecommunications has landed a multi-million dollar contract to fit out Telstra buddy Pacific Century Cyberworks with wireless telecomms equipment.

Under the deal Open Telecommunications will plug it openOR and openSM wireless call control and messaging applications into PCCW’s Hong Kong wireless network, which is currently under construction. The company has also spruiked a bundle of services to PCCW and will integrate third-party hardware used in the network.

While Open Telecommunications, which only threw open the doors to its Hong Kong office in November last year was upbeat about the deal the market thought differently with the company’s shares closing Thursday trading 6 cents down on their $1.23 opening price at $1.17.
