Wasn't it Williams who got shares of the IPO in return for the trial and then had to sell their shares because they needed the cash? Funny how these old stories hang around in the haze of your brain.

Thanks for clarification, Greenlaw. But are you certain that Corvis is marketing an all-optical switch? I don't think so. All the press I've ever seen has them TESTING the switch with this company. . . TESTING the switch with that company. . . . and tests go on behind closed doors.

As for shipping these switches, I haven't seen press that says they have shipped a single unit. And didn't Broadwing kill their deal with Corvis? Or did they just refuse to pay?

We need absolute clarification. . .with evidence. . in order to make the right decision regarding All-optical. Perhaps someone can provide links to the current State-Of-The-Art. It is a fascinating subject with huge potential.

Thanks much,
