... and Osama bin-Laden has a nuclear missile ...

I don't think he needs a missile to deliver a nuke to US. As I recall he took out a pretty sophisticated warship with an out board powered open boat.

without getting into the politics of it, I think Ben and Art are spot on when they point out the negative consequences to Q* should China go isolationist on us again. What do you figure is priced in today on the pretty good "chance" Q* will sell in China, 20 - 30 points? Eliminating a third (or is it more, don't recall) of the world's population from Q*'s growth projections takes a lot of the E out of forward looking PE calculations.

I'm hoping a divided Congress will prevent a resurrection of the Star Wars agenda. We've got so many productive places to spend our money it seems almost criminal to invest in an armament system designed to deal with yesterday's world.

Finally, let us not forget that with the rocket soldering technology Bernie Schwartz has conferred on the Chinese, they now have the ability to overwhelm our most sophisticated anti-missile system, leaving us little choice but to fire first in self defense. I add the last part because I see no reason the Chinese should sleep well at night while American families are lying awake worried about the lack of an anti-missile umbrella. :>)
