Way too cool!
Blows my mind! I got a million ideas.
So many possibilities. If it will be bigger than the internet and the PC, we could be headed to another technological revolution.

I just can't see how.

If it's a transportation device, how will it involve or effect as many people or businesses as the internet?

Here is a link to a Patent with his name on it.
delphion.com

It's a balancing scooter type thinga-ma-jig.
Click on the top little page on the left side. It brings up a picture of a woman riding it along with the patent info.
You will see his name there.
I wonder if this is it...
Dated June 1999.

I glanced over some of the other pages.
Seems like it is self balancing, etc.

It still doesn't fit the description of something bigger than the internet, though.
Got any other ideas?

P.S. What is IT?
I grew up with commercials telling me Coca Cola was it. "Coke Is It!" Remember?

Hee-Haw...

Robotics? Probably not. Entertainment? Ditto. Teleportation? Probably 'way too soon, like a century or so. Power source? Possibly. Transportation, especially the personal packable portable helo or Jetson back pack? Also possible. It is an alternate to something "dirty, expensive, sometimes dangerous and frustrating". Power, transportation, sex, God?

I dunno. I have a hard time seeing a scooter as fulfilling all the promises made in the story... "Bigger than the Net"? "Cities will architect around scooters"? Are they going to redesign NYC or SF for a scooter? I don't think so. Will commuters all of a sudden use scooters? For 50 mile commutes? In the winter? "Change lives, cities, and thinking"? Well the car eventually did, but I just do not see a profound revolutionary change in society brought about by a scooter.
Wiould be fun, tho, as well as cheap and probably clean, but vehicles/ transportation will always prove frustrating...imagine heading out to drive your cart to market and you find that your horse is dead. Very frustrating.
