Applied Materials just issued a profit warning for the current quarter ending January 2001, and for the outlook going forward. The press release does make reference to the slowing demand in the telecommunications market.

I do not know how ALA did for the concluded quarter, but it is hard to believe that ALA could escape the current economic downturn relative to their outlook for at least the first half of 2001. I hope that I am wrong.
