bosquedog,

We heat with natural gas and our cost per unit was 41 cents last year and is 90 cents this year. Our November and December has been colder than normal and we are seeing 3 times the units used this year compared to the last couple of years. This has been a shock to a few folks here in Minnesota. <g> Our electricity comes from Xcel energy which used to be Northern States Power. Our electricity bills have not had a noticeable increase, I think this is because we have a fair number of Nuclear energy plants that provide the energy. At our house we had the opportunity to purchase new appliances, the old 30 year forced swap plan <g> and of course these new appliances are much more energy efficient.
