FWIW... being that cable is always on I believe you should have a good firewall installed. There is a freebie which rates very high

The cable connection is excellent. Now I need to network all three home computers - I bought a Linksys Cable Router - I need to figure out how to connect it. Something about static IP addresses and dynamic IP addresses - this has me flummoxed. I was looking at the instruction manual earlier today - I have no idea how to figure out IP addresses.

Roadrunner says they will introduce cable telephone later this year.
