EMC Corp.'s puts traded actively with at least one investor buying February 65 puts and selling
February 50 puts. EMC on Friday fell $5.38 to $67.75. At the CBOE, the February 65 puts rose
$1.38 to $4.75 on volume of 7,834 contracts, compared with open interest of 1,208. The
February 50 puts rose 50 cents to $1.38 on volume of 7,425 contracts, compared with open
interest of 1,947.

The shares are a reduction in your EMC cost basis. EMC should let you know exactly how much of your basis to assign to your MCDT stock a short time after 24 January, the record date of the distribution.

The information statement will include the final ratio of shares of McDATA Class A common stock to be distributed for each share of EMC common stock, as well as information as to how to calculate the share cost basis of such shares.
