I spent a great week kayaking here. Fantastic whales etc. the only bad point was the sleeping. Because the cliffs are so steep there are only a couple of pull out spots for camping. Naturally the bears also use these places to come down to the water to look for food or bear grasses so you end up sleeping right on bear Hwy. 101. Incredible you follow the bear trail back into the woods and the moss is about 2 feet deep and here are these bear tracks or steps. They step in the same spot every time.
One of the best meals I have ever had was on one of the beaches. Right at the high tide mark is a line of mussels. Heated the mussels up in sea water in a little coffee pot over a gas stove.
Great time.
