Diversity should mean that we embrace a certain amount of difference for aesthetic and ethical reasons, and that we recognize that imposed uniformity can stifle debate, innovation, and improvement. It should not mean that we think nothing is better than another, or common ground is trivial, or any old difference will contribute to the mix......

"Just another word that is rapidly becoming worthless in the discussion of ideas." It is worthless in the sense that the term "Family Planning" became worthless when it became a political euphemism. I don't know anyone planning to have a family that goes to a Family Planning clinic as their first stop for advise. Likewise most people (at least teens and young adults) who are looking for cultural enrichment don't think of the diversity groups as their first choice.
