I wonder if they are going to block non-members from even viewing the current message boards unless you subscribe.

Well they haven't yet. As a test I brought up IE (I normally use Netscape from work) and went to the URL for this subject header and tried to post. I could not without logging in. So it doesn't seem to be a truly public ID where non-members can post.
