I don't follow this stock to know the "real deal" however the perception among the masses is that it is going out of business.

I went into Staples to do a price match on Diablo II and Links 2001 to give to some of my friends. The person said he couldn't price match it because Etoys was going out of business.

1. That is not Staples corporate policy as I know it.

2. I told him to call Etoys to verify if he was going to hang his hat on that.

Then he proceeded to tell me he would limit me to one.

I had to tell him again that was not corporate policy and directed him to their own website where it talks about reserving the right to a limit of three. Have to give him an A for trying to protect profits, though.

I would say that I bought enough from Etoys to pay the salary of several people for the month. They are getting a cash infusion with this sale. But the message boards are filled with talk that we may never see the orders because they are going out of business.

The prices are incredible. If you play around with your order and the wish list discount you can get your shipping for free or get a discount bigger than the shipping costs.

I missed out on the JamCam but a friend of mine set up a program to alert when they put it back in stock. They are rationing those JamCams a few at a time right now. I guess that is their way to keep people coming back to the site. I keep finding things to buy. Got my eye on a 11.99 reduced to 1.99 make your own root beer thing that I just found...I am such a big spender :-)

Last I heard Etoys said they oversold the Lego Studios by five. That will probably be the one thing I don't get that someone really wanted. 179.99 is a lot to fork over for Legos but 62.99 is acceptable :-)

I have to say that I am impressed so far with how Etoys has handled this sale. I know that they have been absolutely swamped with orders.

I have been ordering since 1/12. Nothing has shipped yet but all my orders have been broken down into packages - even the order I placed this afternoon.

I have experienced many horror stories with online shopping so we will see how Etoys performs under the pressure. One person claims that he could tell how many orders had been placed between two of his orders by looking at some log. Not sure what he was using to judge this but he said there were 300,000 orders in between his two.

Given the magnitude of the sale it wouldn't surprise me.

I really wanted to buy this item

but then I figured that I would get into BIG trouble and it would probably come back to haunt me anyway :-)

Still haven't ordered my Make Your Own Root Beer set. I almost got those JamCams but they sold out right when I was completing the order...so the root beer will have to wait. I am buying this pig.

Since I haven't shorted ETYS in awhile I suppose I can't create a ETYS pig....but I am sure I will come up with something.

However, I think I will pass on this for the pig collection:
