1/12/00, 4:00 pm: Press Release Commentary...

Stock Index The net commercial position has re established the "alert" by holding their position near the 5 year record.

What this means is the speculator has NOT reduced his net long position, and if fact has re established longs. So
EVERYONE IS LONG THE STOCK MARKET.

One of my favorite sayings is "when everyone is in, it is time to be OUT."

If you look at the put call ratio and volatility indexes you will see that they are also confirming the the indicators are
acting more like we are at a top rather than at a bottom.

And let me say clearly, the NASDAQ IS NOT the major market. That market got killed and will likely stay killed. The top
in the market is now in the large cap stocks and there is a LOT OF ROOM FOR DECLINE. The Bear Market has not yet
gone to extremes in the blue chips. Actually it has bearly got going. I expect a 30 to 50% drop in the Dow before we hit
the bottom.

See my Stock Index comments Sunday at www.futuresfax.com .
