But we /you don't even recognize it as "cannibalism."

but that does not mean i have always considered religion as a very primitive and salvage practice. for the body and mind.

from outside that's what eating human flesh and drinking human blood would be.

they say voodoo practitioners to be mere heretics...

history shows different...

nando.net

The strength that the Africans in Haiti gained from their religion was so strong and powerful, that they were able to survive the cruel persecution of the French rulers against Voodoo. When the French realized that the religion of the Africans was a threat to the colonial system, they prohibited all African religion practices and severely punished the practitioners of Voodoo with imprisoments, lashings and hangings. This religious struggle continued for three centuries, but none of the punishments could extinguished the faith of the Africans who kept their religion in secret.

how is that for atrocities from the French Catholics ? eh ?

so... where is the love you ask ?

up yours, it is not about love. it is about power, greed and manipulation. it has been that way, it is so now, and it will always be that way.

the "communion, i.e. flesh eating and blood drinking" is to calm down the salvage instincts inside the members of the "flock"

Today, there are two virtually unrelated forms of the religion:

(1) the actual religion, Vodun practiced in Benin, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Haiti, Togo and various centers in the US -largely where Haitian refuges have settled.

(2) an evil, imaginary religion, which we will call Voodoo. It has been created for Hollywood movies, complete with "voodoo dolls", violence, bizarre rituals, etc. It does not exist in reality, except in the minds of most non-Voduns.

There is a third form of Voodoo... (a more "technical" one).

I subscribe to that one, -g- it is also known as:

Technical Analysis of Stocks, Futures & Options

in this form of Voodoo you attempt to see the future in the form of prices of securities, options and futures contracts

there is no hell, no sacrifices, no gods, no demons, no blood drinking, no flesh eating, or dolls.

just one's own successes and mistakes.

now... you want to learn a little more about the real reason of religion and the manner in which it is used in a more... kind of "bigger picture" form?

The Geneva Spiritual Appeal

A group of world religious leaders from the Buddhist, Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths met in Geneva Switzerland during 1999-OCT. They discussed religion as a cause of violence and discrimination. On OCT-24, they created a document "The Geneva Spiritual Appeal." They ask political and religious leaders and organisations to ensure that religions are not used to justify violence in the future. The document claims that 56 conflicts have religious elements. Protestant theologian William McComish said: "Religion is part of the identity by which one ethnic group sets itself against one another."
