Eric, NTAP Fed is based in Rockville, MD. It is a subsidiary primarily for security reasons, that I won't go in to. It's a common practice to do this, especially if the company focuses on the intelligence community, as NTAP Fed does. They have a half dozen reps or so plus a few sales engineers.

NTAP has had a good presence in the Federal Gov't since about 1996. They have major installations in the intelligence community, NASA, Navy, Army, and Air Force and are expanding rapidly in all agencies.

The feds have massively growing amounts of data to manage and slim IT budgets. SUNW and MSFT are very unhappy about the progress being made by NTAP. It means fewer Unix and NT servers are being sold than otherwise.
