Judge White is/was in favor of giving a MASS MURDERER who killed police officers and women a new trial. His name is James R Johnson.

James R Johnson is pleading for a new trial on the basis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Which is a fine defense if he were not a HELICOPTER MECHANIC in the Vietnam war.

Ashcroft did the RIGHT thing by disallowing Judge White to advance any farther in our nation's court system.

No one can separate their religious beliefs from their work, that's not the issue nor a problem here... Ashcroft did the right thing in that case by cutting loose a judge who did not belong on the bench..... the criminals already have it too easy..... that criminal was a confessed murderer of law enforcement officers... and that cannot go unpunished, that criminal does not deserve to live among us..... that's the real issue here, not someone's religious beliefs.....

OT - OFF TOPIC
Mephisto,

The man,and yourself as well,is allowed religious beliefs. I personally do not think an abortion viewpoint is a religious issue.

In this great country of ours ,we assume the man can do his job competently(enforcing the laws of the land) regardless of his religious views OR HIS ABORTION VIEWS.

You get caught up on political spin. I trust you are a fairer more open minded person than to condemn someone based on the Democrats spin.

In other words Give the guy a chance. Surely he can't be any less effective than his previous office holder.

Bob

I for one don't think abortion has a place in our political system. It is ,at the very least a very personal decision ,- no government anywhere should have that much power over an individual's personal freedom. To think that it is within government's capability to decide for people an abortion decision is to be falling onto the spin of either sides viewpoint. It should not be an acid test it should be a personal decision.

Anything else is pushing one's viewpoint on another and therefore "out of bounds".
