Are we going to have another imperial presidency?

IMO, they're all imperial presidencies for at least the first couple of months--really full of themselves--until they either wise up or get sufficiently bruised. Some never learn. IMO, new-administration arrogance is what did in the Clinton administration. Firing the White House travel staff and the Executive Order on gays in the military before the inaugural confetti was even swept up, for example, were typically new-administration moves. I figured the experience of Dubya's bunch would obviate some of that. Ever the optimist.

Karen

P.S. I'm not complaining too loudly, though, given the opportunity for some time off. My devotion to the commonweal has its limits. :)

great point: It's gonna be REAL interesting to see if Rush Limbaugh expresses the same outrage about Bush holding up tens of thousands of DC commuters that he did about Clinton getting a haircut on the LA runway....

Somthin' tells me the "outrage meter" may not peg this time, whaddya think???
