Mephisto

I am far from the extreme right when it comes to religion but...

America was founded on the belief that "we have no king but Jesus."

Do we not swear under oath in courts with our hand on a BIBLE.

And do the words: "...One nation, UNDER GOD, indivisible..." ring a bell?

I moved to South Carolina about 4 years ago. I have had incidental contact with Jonesers. They are certainly "out there" when it comes to dating and racial prejudice but I do trust them to work for me. They are very honest, hard working Americans who want to live life the way they see fit. They have not pushed their agenda on me other then handing out flyers in downtown Greenville on occasion.

I find it interesting that our society chooses to attack those who work hard, are honest and live quietly. And then they turn around and march behind a man like Jesse Jackson who lives off others fear while supporting gang bangers who attack innocents.

I ask myself "where did we make this turn?"

If Ashcroft were to infuse his religious beliefs into his work, then why didn't he agree with that judge about giving that criminal a new trial... after all, doesn't Ashcroft's Christian beliefs teach complete forgiveness... if Ashcroft were to allow his religious preferences influence his work, he would forgive and pardon everyone... this is absurd..... I think opposing Ascroft on his religious beliefs is a very weak argument..... my religious beliefs are very different than Ashcroft's, but I don't feel threatened by Ashcroft's religious preferences..... so first, he's a racist... then, he's a religious fanatic..... listen, we need to be more tolerant about individual differences.....
