George: I'm 45 seconds into scanning your analysis and I'm liking it, a lot. Sadly, I'm a at fork in the road: nick-nick with Suzy or your analysis? I'll choose the one that is the least time consuming. Nick-nick it is. But I should be back to your post within 4 minutes.

Updated Comparison Of QLGC, BRCD, and EMLX:

______________ ________QLGC BRCD EMLX
TSO/Float(%) 92.4/61.7M(66%) 223.9/162.8M(72%) 74.3/49.8M(67%)
Short Interest (%) 4.782M(7.8%) 8.919M(5.5%) 2.391M(4.8%)
PE 47.76 80.91 38.85
EPS 0.62 0.37 0.65
Insider sales (3 mo) 1 4 9
Inst. Buy/Sell 139/144 162/151 116/74
Total Inst. Holders (#) 321 350 205
New Buyers/Closed (#) 59/43 50/53 57/22
Inst. Holdings ($) $1.942B $5.508B $8.652B
Book Value $5.25 $2.16 $3.55

Some additional notes:

Total Institutional Holders have increased across the board since 1/13/01.

The case of Sells > Buys is true only for Q and this suggests short sales, since Q was the only company
that had an increase in short interest.

The proportionately less PE ratio drop and much higher book value for Q suggests that better fundamentals may
be recognized.

All the numbers are from Nasdaq.com and Yahoo.

Is there an easier way than fixed font to make these tables? The SI "upgrade" is terrible.
