Yes, I agree with this. I think it's human nature to remember the past with a rather rose-colored perspective, unless the past was traumatic, in which case the nature of the memory is very different. Personally, I think our minds are doing us a favor by glossing over the rough spots.

I think YYB's and X's points are valid as well (she said diplomatically<g>) in that there has been much progress in the qualityof life in this century. We still have a long way to go, but in the end, I'm grateful to have been born in the 1950's rather than in the 1910's.
