Based on the book I have: "Charting the stock market, The Wykckoff Method", his 1 point charts do not change columns on every reversal. The method described does not reflect all the example 1 point reversal charts in the book.

Anyway, John Murphy talks about the intraday 1 box reversal charts that stay in the same column if they can without overwriting a previous X or O. Only 1 box reversals work this way -- other reversals work the usual way because any reversal would always write over a filled box.
