someone who is bent on discrediting him vs. someone who is not

Richard, I have not seen anyone on any of the several boards that carry on BB discussions who are "bent on discrediting" him. I see many who are extremely critical because he has been 1)wrong and 2)refused to admit he was wrong and 3)went after his critics.

Any public figure who does this would be criticized just as harshly. The problem with Bob is that he does it over and over again. If he would stop doing it (#2 and #3) then the criticism would abate. No one can avoid being wrong, everyone knows that.

The only person who appears bent on discrediting his good name appears to be himself and those who profess to being his supporters. Read the incredibly offensive latest posts from RamblinMan on the Suite101 thread. Hopefully he will be banned for libel and spamming. No one needs this type of "supporter".

+++++++++++

FYI, there's also an interesting topic of his claim that underperforming the S&P500 is ok (from the Forbes article) because his beta is low. Someone has posted an interesting rebuttal to that assertion:

209.52.189.2

That type of discussion is actually useful in evaluating whether he knows his stuff or not and is worth listening to or spending $185 on.
