But your white co-workers will not see that. The impression they will take away is blacks celebrating a miscarriage of justice. Oh, everyone understood all right. This is a pretty sophisticated bunch when it comes to matters of diversity. I think that's what made the difference in reaction all the more notable to me. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. Thanks for posting the speech. It's been a while since I read it. This time through I found another nugget. Wouldn't it be nice if some SI threads adopted this little snippet as their motto? I'm beginning to think dignity and discipline are lost arts. Personally, my discipline frequently fails me (as in the mango Hagen-Dazs I found at the Fresh Fields this morning) so I no longer expect much from it, but I always hang tough for dignity. Karen
