Well Ron, first of all, it is "Nanjing", not "Nanking". Second, young generations in Asia have forgotten things in the past, unlike the Balkans who past things onto the next generations. They are more friendly nowadays, because Asian entertainers tend to do well across the Asian countries. Third, the Pacific War had more or less to do with the religious part of the expansionism. Something like you die for the country and reincarnate into a better life. Why would someone who drink the last cup and dive his zero straight into a target ? A person with consciousness wouldn't do so.

Then maybe we can research the long-held love that exists between Vietnamese and the Chinese. There was this rumour about this fighting a war some twenty years ago, but I'm sure this is just more western propaganda.

It was related to border dispute and the protectionism against capitalism. But now, things are different. Actually, more Vietnamese live a good life in Hong Kong, although they had been refugees for years, and the HK taxpayers basically supported them for everything.

But if someone wants to dig deep into history to find what's the most influential event that changed the later part of the history in Asia. I would say "The Opium War" in China. It was about the expansionism of the British Empire and how the British wanted to build cash flow into their empire and feed the Kings and Queens. Most of the Asian people didn't like they occupied so much space in Asia and threatened their interests and local cultures. You may wonder why the US has done so much better than the Canadian and the Ozzie, cos the US got rid of the monkey off its back. Shouldn't we really celebrate in July 4th ? We bet!

yeah Ron, after thinking for a while, I tend to against affirmative action now.

You said:
Remember this the next time you're in a job competition with some cutie female type. If it's a male supervisor, I would not feel confident.

Yeah, I think blondies with blue eyes big breasts are treated a little better in the work place. Not to mean to be stereotypist though. But guess what... have you noticed there're lots of Asian babes as news anchors nowadays. And in Olympics, most of the Chinese females grabbed the medals for the country. Come on! where are the guys ??
