Larry,

So if the polls had the proper questions such as do you think GMST is a Gorilla candidate I would then say YES. I think this question should be added to your other excellent questions (sucking up to Mike) to get a true feeling :o).

LOL! But your sucking up didn't work. :)

I voted NO GMST is not a Gorilla because no tornado!

So if the polls had the proper questions such as do you think GMST is a Gorilla candidate I would then say YES.

The obvious key for Gemstar-TV Guide is to turn the eyeballs into a legitimate recurring revenue stream in addition to the monthly subscription fees collected from AOL, AT&T and others. The US sub base expanded 5X in 2000 and is forecasted to grow 100% in 2001 to 20MM. (The '00 growth had the merger cost/dilution of ~2X.) Gemstar confirmed attaining 10MM US subs at a recent conference and of surpassing Yahoo for page views.

If the Nasdaq were above 4000 and Gemstar was valued north of 80 I believe the results may have been different ... at least my vote would have reflected such. Most companies show deteriorating investor confidence in deteriorating times even though they have executed at or above expectations.

I voted 3 (uncertain) in the most recent poll.

Stew
