As are dead trees. Wood warms you 3 times, when you cut it, split it and burn it. Pop that popcorn over an open fire.

actually natural gas, propane and electric heat are tied for fire safety.
according to the last statistics (that i saw) put out by the national fireman's association, fires per 100,000 homes are about 1.2 for natural gas, electric heat and propane. heat from wood or coal increased the odds of burning your house down by over 100 times (approxiamtely 125 per 100,000 homes).
