This is no "honor" in defending beliefs that involve the enslavement of a people due to skin color. Those who were conscripted were indeed unfortunate. The Southern Cause was brutal and cruel, and that is the difference between the Masachusetts soldier defending his belief that men should be free regardless of skin color, and the Tennessee soldier who thought the opposite.
